I am fortunate enough to be a writer by trade and by desire. I've been educated in creative writing (holding a bachelor's degree) and in the nuances of the English language (holding a master's degree). I've spent years as a communication consultant, editor, and teacher. Consequently, I have acquired the habit of effectively working alongside others as either a mentor, a sounding board, or in the service of clients and authorities. My work experience translates to an odd paradox; I am a leader and a servant. Ultimately, there is a single driving force which supports both positions--I am always inclined to help others in any way I can and to the best of my ability.
Studying composition, language, and communication generally falls under the banner of "rhetoric", which loosely means the most effective manner of persuasion and communication. However, if I may, I often like to extend this term. I do not simply practice rhetoric in my writing. I practice the rhetoric of being a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a friend, a co-worker, and even a dog-owner. In short, I practice the rhetoric of being myself, the most effective me in any situation.
For you, as a potential employer or simply one scouting my profile, I hope to be able to show you my best, to demonstrate the Rhetoric of Zac Lewis throughout my daily personal and professional life.
