  William D. Richardson was named USD Distinguished Professor Emeritus in 2017. From 1998-2017

  he served as chair of the Department of Political Science

  director of the W. O. Farber Center for Civic Leadership

  Odeen-Swanson Distinguished Professor

  and Professor of Political Science at USD. He was an associate professor of political science at Georgia State University from 1978-1998. In 2005-2006

  he was an American Council on Education Fellow at the New College of Florida

  the state's highly acclaimed public honors college. He is the author/co-author/editor of six scholarly books and dozens of articles. Richardson obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Buffalo.
