Mc Guire
I began my teaching career at De Andreas H.S.
St. Louis
Mo.
in the fall of 1966. My induction into the US Army in June of 1969 interrupted my career but provided me the opportunity to experience the Bay Area and thus relocate here for further studies at SFSU. I started my practice teaching at CCSF in the fall of 1975. I was a adjunct instructor from the summer of 1977 to 1997 - 40 consecutive semesters and several summer schools thrown in. My tenured position began in the fall of 1997 wherein I assumed the role of Coordinator of the Humanities Program. I stepped down from that position in May of 2013. I also taught at the Presentation H.S. in S.F. from January 1977 to the school's closing in June of 1991. I taught English Composition at USF from August 1992 to May 1997. My goal is to assist the current coordinator
Professor Jeffrey Liss
to find the best Humanities Teachers to staff our program at the City College so that I can retire knowing that the torch has been properly passed.

I was formerly the Coordinator of Humanities at CCSF. We have been in the process of expanding our course sections as well as new course offerings. In the near future
we will need new full-time instructors with at least an M.A. in Humanities as well as a strong Language Arts background. The job candidates must demonstrate a current and strong involvements in the arts.
