The Orlando Times
The Orlando Times is a print publication that serves the African-American community of Central Florida. I worked in collaboration with two people to write an informative article about the life of Joseph N. Crooms, an African-American educator who built Crooms Academy and helped to expand education for African-Americans during the Jim Crow south. In addition to Crooms, I also researched the life of Clifford Joel Hurston, the younger brother of Zora Neale Hurston, who also inhabited the Crooms home.
