  I teach SDV 100, which is a Student Development course. The course is formatted to enhance the skills of first year students. The completion of SDV 100 increases the rate of success for students and gives them a foundation to manuever positively through the entire college experience. The course combines college essentials for survival as well as information relative to J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College and its phenominal resources.

  Faculty Extension Agent/Educator Family and Consumer Sciences

  As a Family and Consumer Sciences Educator, I am responsible for addressing any concerns that families may have related to financial management, human development and nutrition and wellness. A vast array of services fall under these three pillars such as basic financial education, credit management, identity theft, untitled property transfers, food preparation, food preservation, food safety, chronic disease management (diabetes), child care provider training, workforce development,business and social etiquette, basic housekeeping, basic home maintenance and energy conservation.
  
  These services are provided in an effort to improve the quality of lives of our citizens. Our resources enhance the well being of residents. Through education, engagement and empowerment families are strengthened and sustained.
