Corporate Communications
I managed customer communications in my final position
overseeing a staff of six that managed functions such as the customer-facing website
speakers bureau
bill inserts and other collateral materials
and special events and communications such as those surrounding Earth Day and electrical safety. I took an unpaid year's leave in 2003 to reconnect with normalcy after the rock and roll years of electrical deregulation in California (see the documentary The Smartest Guys in the Room
about Enron
and imagine being on the receiving end for a couple years)
then made a career move to university teaching.

managed media communications and the production of collateral materials

including printing and audio-visual.
