Prof. Pedersen can be intimidating at the first lecture. However, he ended up being an amazing guy. He shared tons of his life experiences and he really has his head screwed on right. He's very caring but he won't put up with anyone's crap. Put in time and effort and everything will be easy for you. I got an A even though I didn't really read the textbook.
