Professor Hancock is very organized. The lectures are recorded and the summary notes are really helpful. Be sure to rewatch the lectures and start studying early on. The problem sets saved me. Also, you can't cram.

Mr. Hancock was a good man but not a good professor. He thought that we have taken only his class. He cared about spilling. Aside from that, the practical exams were super hard. He wanted that we feel disappointment. Nobody remembers the spilling after the exams. Do not take this class if you don't want to be stressed out.

Professor Hancock was one of the best Biology professors at Portland State University. He's accessible during his office hours to help you. So, don't hesitate to go if you have any questions. The exams were not that hard if you understand the concepts and study his summary notes. Overall, I totally recommend him to everyone.

Professor Hancock is a nice guy, but his lectures are too heavy and he writes and draws lines all over the paper, which can be super confusing. It's like he is unaware that we have other courses than AnP. If you want to succeed in this class, don't take any other courses. No parties, no weekends, and no entertainment. You have to only study as much as possible. I even got a hemorrhoid!

Professor Hancock seems to try teaching everything harder than what it is. I don't know why he's not using 3d pictures to demonstrate the concept. Instead, he drew crazy and unclear pictures. Also, the students will have to spend plenty of time to take down notes from his lectures. He did not offer neat and organized slides to study and his pacing is too fast.

Prof. Hancock discusses a lot in a short period of time, but he clearly knows his stuff. He has realistic expectations as well. His exams are hard and specific but no tricky questions. You'll have to watch lectures to get all required info. You'll be okay as long as you put in time.

Prof. Hancock's exams are tough but he has very straightforward expectations for lecture and lab. Grades only come from exams. Lectures can sometimes be overwhelming, he gives good summary notes. He's very passionate about his job and he was able to adjust well to the COVID situation.

Do not take this class if you only care about an easy A. Prof. Hancock is very passionate about teaching and he really wants you to be successful, that's why he gives lots of material and expects you to read it. He gives good sources as well. He's pretty chill and he even keeps tabs on students' success after college. Would really recommend this class if you want to actually learn!

I don't know why there are any positive reviews for Professor Hancock. The feeling I get from him is that he doesn't care at all about teaching. He's horrible about it due to fact that he makes thing more complicated than they actually are. He takes everything very seriously, when it doesn't have to be. I wish he would just relax and give us a break once in a while.
