This was an online career planning class in which they changed the professor at the last minute to Professor Culhane. I hated the way he graded us. We had to do the nonsense creative assignments so that we could get full points for our discussion questions. If we failed to do it, we will get very low points for the week and I didn't like it. Positive thing is that he will give no due dates so that was cool.

As a National Geographic Emerging Explorer with a Ph.D. in Urban Planning and as a field practitioner who specialises in environmental services technologies (particularly in developing countries), I devote my intellect, energy and passions to helping societies reach our agreed upon Millennium Development Goals.
I look for professional opportunities to bring my many years of experience as a teacher, practitioner and consultant in interdisciplinary sustainable development praxis to bear on implementing design and efficiency improvements for schools, businesses, institutions and non-profit-organisations.
I enjoy working with people who embrace the post-modern ethos of hybridity and who know how to work rhizomally, allowing distributed networks to evolve that create cybernetic systems whose collective intelligences are greater than the sum of their parts.
Having dedicated so much of my career to bringing the arts and sciences together, marrying practice and theory into on-the-ground praxis, I hope to continue working with top minds on multidisciplinary projects whose successful outcomes can better solve environmental, health, engineering and social problems, and which have robustness in both the short and long-term.
I am currently interested in blending my skills in real world innovation and construction of renewable energy, agroforestry and waste management and water purification technologies with game development and "edutainment" design to create sustainable development toolsets that aid implementation, helping to close the digital divide and the chasm between the “haves and have nots” through better use of our real and virtual toolkits in both education and infrastructure improvement.
My goal as an urban planning-trained “solutions provider” has always been to be part of a global team whose synergistic work creates win-win situations wherein a more effective symbiosis can be forged between our civilisations and the ecological systems that maintain them.
Specialties: I work toward practical visions of planning that allow us to thrive on what economist Kenneth Boulding and architect-inventor Buckminster Fuller called “Spaceship Earth.” I employ the following skill-sets:
Environmental technology systems engineer (solar and biogas specialities), facility with Audio-Video/Multimedia/3D Game creation, editing and compositing software;
Teacher, writer and film soundtrack/music composer/producer with speciality in educational and science instructional materials.

his article examines the potential contribution of household scale off-grid renewable energy generation to the post-carbon economy. The large-scale focus of the green jobs agenda in high-income countries obscures how small-scale technologies can be a transformative source of employment in developing economies. Debates about what constitutes a green job and their value leaves out the everyday practice of green livelihoods carried out by the urban poor across the African continent in unfavourable institutional contexts where nonrenewable fuel is subsidised and renewable energy inputs are heavily taxed. The article presents experiences from field work in several countries, including Egypt, Nigeria and Kenya to provide practical examples of communities pursuing strategies of income generation, community empowerment and environmental preservation. We argue that scholars and practitioners concerned with both social justice and environmental preservation should embrace a definition of green jobs that is bottom-up or people-centred. The grassroots experiences highlighted illustrate the important role of non-governmental organisations in supporting transformative, locally sustainable green employment and livelihoods by piloting demonstration projects, fostering innovation, conducting research, forming coalitions and engaging in advocacy when local institutions and market conditions make both consumers and providers risk averse to off-grid renewable energy adoption.
