Terry Lewis is a retired tenured professor in the Department of Theatre and Dance at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Prior to that appointment, Dr. Lewis served nine years as the Director of Theatre and Dance. During the past thirty plus years he has served as Chair, Department of Theatre and Dance, Southern Utah University; Director, Revels Company, Utah Shakespearean Festival; Head of Acting, Texas Tech University; Managing Director, Cornell Interactive Theatre Ensemble; Chair, Department of Theatre and Dance, Amarillo College; and Artistic Director, Amarillo Little Theatre. He has founded three producing theatre organizations, honored by the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts American College Theatre Festival as a "Faculty Fellow", Texas Community College Theatre Educator of the year, and nominated as an "Outstanding Professor". Terry has been a presenter on more than 50 academic and creative panels and workshops, Texas state critic judge, 5A, 3A, and 1A, University Interscholastic League One -Act Play Contests, and invited clinician and critic judge for over 75 Zone, District, Area, and Region, UIL One-Act Play contests. He has directed over 100 dance and theatre productions including Shakespeare, musical theatre, period styles, and numerous modern and contemporary plays. His production of "Breaking the Code", was a national winner, American College Theatre Festival with performances at John F. Kennedy Center, in Washington, D. C. Terry received his Ph.D. in Arts Administration with a focus on acting/directing and management. His dissertation is titled "The Utah Shakespeare Festival: Twenty-Five Years in Retrospect.
