Since 2009, after my Solar Energy training with Conergy, a German PV distributor, I started to realize that the key to Distributed PV systems growth was in the financial sector. That’s how the PACE program, started by Renewable Funding in California the year before, called my attention. I was so amazed by this simple idea (to finance retrofits through opt in assessments on property taxes), that I decided to focus my research on it. I analyzed the different policies supporting the "Renewable Energy / Energy Efficiency for the residential sector in Miami Dade". My objective was to make the case for the implementation of a PACE program in what was known as the "Clean Energy Green Corridor". This policy is being implemented today by a group of municipalities of South Miami Dade.
