My dissertation was a mixed-methods study that focused on engaging high school students in culturally relevant algebra instruction. I analyzed test scores from pre- and post-assessments, and I collected qualitative data such as classroom observations, field notes, questionnaires and interviews to determine students growth in mathematical proficiency and their attitudes towards culturally relevant instruction.
