Poor
Professor Erdelyi speaks facing the board 90% of the class. He will only turn around to ask questions. He has a thick accent and most of the time mumbles when speaking. In every two words, he will use the filler word "um". Reason is, he has trouble gathering his thoughts. It is very hard to learn the material on your own. So, you need to attend the week in review. He also doesn't have ecampus or online notes.
Awful
Professor Erdelyi was very intelligent and he knew exactly what he was doing. I learned pretty much everything from recitation and his lab days, so I just quit going to lectures. If you do end up with him just make sure to get tutored somewhere else. Just don't take the class as a plan A.
Awesome
It's really sad that many students weren't able to follow his lecture notes. He can actually teach his colleagues how to write on the boards at a good pace.
Good
If you happen to miss one of Prof. Tamas' lectures, I suggest you borrow notes from your classmates, but please try to attend class.
Good
Prof. Erdelyi writes clearly on the board, but I honestly wish that his lectures notes were also available online, so I won't have to use my camera on his lectures.
Awful
Prof. Tamas isn't a good prof. He was such a struggle to understand. He even talked bad about a student who went to his office in front of the whole class. Beware and please do not take him. Also, please do not be fooled by the fake reviews about him here. Final exam was actually out of left field.
