Good
Doctor Stevenson is one of those teachers who really encourages students to think for themselves and be creative in their approach. Although she's vague enough in assignment descriptions, she's also generous with her office hours as well as in email to ask questions or get clarification and direction if you need it. There's no grade inflation that happens in her classes though.

Stevenson, Ed.D.
Greater Salt Lake City Area
Tamara N. Stevenson, Ed.D. is an associate professor of communication at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was appointed as the College's interim chief diversity officer, effective March 1, 2019. Stevenson came to Westminster College in 2012. She has developed and taught courses in human, organizational and intercultural communication; civil rights discourses and professional writing. Her professional presentations address multiple dynamics of race, gender, power and privilege, and her research includes the study of racialized and gendered experiences of African-American male and female faculty and spans public policy and higher education.
With more than 10 years’ industry experience in corporate communication, Dr. Stevenson examines the communicative functions and outcomes of K-12 and postsecondary institutions as organizational sites of power through a critical race lens.
Stevenson has been active in college-wide service, including membership on numerous committees and leadership of initiatives. She also served as faculty fellow for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion from 2015–18. In addition to recognition from external organizations — such as the Emerging Diversity Scholar Award from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor’s National Center for Institutional Diversity — she was honored last month with the college’s Unsung Hero Award. Her academic credentials include a doctorate and specialist of arts degree in educational leadership and a graduate certificate in community college leadership from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan, along with a master’s degree in organizational communication and a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from Wayne State University in Detroit.
