Leading 52 faculty members in the areas of atmospheric sciences, biology and mathematics programs, the non-degree areas of chemistry, physics, geography, and the ULM Museum of Natural History; Supervising the station archaeologist and curator of the Poverty Point World Heritage Site located in Epps, LA; my responsibilities as School Director include:
• Advancing the School of Sciences by supporting its research, teaching and service missions
• Encouraging interdisciplinary collaborations
• Community outreach and collaborations with businesses
• Developing internship opportunities for students
• Class scheduling
• Curriculum development and implementation
• Hiring and supporting new faculty, providing mentorship
• Evaluating faculty performance
• Assessment of degree programs
• SACS compliance in the School of Sciences
• Recruiting and retaining students; Streamlining freshman advisement for ease and accuracy
• Developing and implementing strategies for student success; administering the Math
Resource Center and the Chemistry Learning Center for student academic support
• Marketing all School of Sciences programs and coordinating promotional material
• Managing the School of Sciences budget and it's Foundation funds
• Allocating space, funds, and workload
• Advancing the strategic goals of the School of Sciences
• Overseeing lab and building safety issues

My responsibilities, as I transition the function of the Graduate School from primarily an admissions model to a School that offers a comprehensive set of services to graduate faculty and students, include:
• Growing the graduate program in keeping with the ULM’s strategic plan
• Developing and implementing a marketing plan for the Graduate School
• Overseeing graduate international and domestic admissions
• Serve as an advocate for graduate education
• Arranging for reviews of graduate student petitions
• Creating professional development opportunities for graduate students and faculty
• Overseeing support services for graduate students including orientation, mentorship and advisement
• Administering graduate assistantships
• Supervising the maintenance of graduate school records
• Supervising the maintenance of the Graduate Catalog and website.
