Stuart Best is a Partner in the Detroit office of Weltman Weinberg & Reis Co. LPA, the largest Creditors Rights law firm in the United States. He mangages the Detroit Litigation & Defense department of WWR, which includes matters in Commercial Foreclosure, reciverships Commercial and Consumer Finance Defense Litigation, Commercial Banking, Business, and Real Property Litigation in both Federal and State courts. He is the Partner in charge of the Michigan Real Estate division and handles routine as well as complex legal foreclosure and title issues, as well as state law foreclosure compliance. Stuart has a wealth of federal and state court experience and has handled many cases involving real estate, real estate title issues, landlord-tenant, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Michigan Collection Practices Act defense, Michigan Lemon Law defense, insurance subrogation and recoupment. Over the course of his career, he has also assisted clients with issues involving residential and commercial real estate/development, commercial leasing, landlord-tenant law, tax, administrative law, licensing, estate planning, and Liquor Commission issues and rezoning. Throughout his legal career he has also represented local and national talent in the entertainment industry. Stuart is formally a Licensed Commercial and Residential Real Estate Broker.
