MS\nTexas A&M University-Commerce 2008\n\n\nAdvisor: Ricky Dobbs
PhD\n\nThe purpose of this study was to understand the feminist movement of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era and what contemporaries believed to be the nature of feminism in America. To this end
the author made considerable use of primary and secondary sources from archival and online resources. Ultimately
the author proves that there was no standard concept of feminism amongst America's women
given deep issues of class antagonism.
