Poor
Gives lots of readings that are not relevant on your research paper and thus, an unnecessary workload. Focuses more on discussing the readings. Shames the class when we didn't study. Would recommend other enjoyable HIST 481 profs.
Awesome
Fun lectures that have been teaching me a lot. He's preparing you for the tests very well if you're showing up and reading the book. Recommend this class very much!
Awesome
Prof. Riegg is a really great professor. He genuinely cares about his students and you can tell that he’s very passionate. He encourages everyone to ask for clarifications and he takes time to answer questions. If you pay attention in class and read the book, the tests are pretty much an easy A.
Awesome
It was a phenomenal class with him! At the start of the semester, I had no idea about Russian History. Fortunately, I took Prof. Riegg and he's the best lecturer I've had at TAMU. You can tell that he genuinely cares about what his students understand as well. He gives 3 exams which are pretty easy if you study your notes. Textbook wasn't necessary, but it helped reinforce things. He also gave 1 short essay.
Awesome
So far, Prof. Riegg is the best lecturer I've ever had at TAMU. He makes Russian History interesting even if you aren't a history major. You can tell that he is very passionate about teaching and his lectures are interesting. Exams are lecture heavy though, so don't bother reading the book. Show up in class and you're guaranteed an A.
Awesome
Prof. Riegg is an amazing teacher. He's honestly the best lecturer at TAMU. This class is totally interesting and will only require a little effort outside of class. You'll do fine as long as you show up and listen to the material. It was an enjoyable class.
