Doctor Baglione is brilliant. He's a quick grader, but also a tough one. He regularly publishes his expectations in announcements that goes beyond the standard curriculum. An A is very hard to get. However, he's a great professor and you'll learn a lot by doing the class his way.

Dr. Stephen L. Baglione started teaching at Saint Leo University in 1996. He is a native of New York City, growing up in Queens, a few miles from Shea Stadium and the USTA National Tennis Center. His undergraduate degree is from Queens College (City University of New York) in Economics, History, and Political Science. As an undergraduate, he was awarded an internship in the New York State Assembly. He graduated with honors and was accepted into the Gold Key National Honor Society, Economic Honor Society (Omicron Delta Epsilon), History Honor Society (Phi Alpha Theta), and Political Science Honor Society (Pi Sigma Alpha).
After graduation, Dr. Baglione worked for Graybar Electric, a distributor of telecommunications equipment in Long Island City (New York City) and Stamford, Connecticut. He left Graybar to pursue a Master of Arts in Economics at the University of South Carolina, where he received a graduate assistantship for research. Between his masters and doctorate, he worked for the Office of the Governor in South Carolina. While pursuing his doctorate in Marketing, he worked (part-time) for four years as a research associate for an expert witness firm.

Dr. Baglione is a tenured full professor. He was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia. He has won the University Teacher of the Year. He is a multiple winner of the Saint Leo University Researcher of the Year (three times) and School of Business Researcher of the Year (eight times) and Teacher of the Year (five times). He has also won the SLU Student Government Union (SGU) Teacher of the Year and Faculty Advisor of the Year. In 2007, he was awarded the University's Lifetime Research award. He has served on over 60 committees while at SLU, chairing almost a dozen.
Dr. Baglione was a finalist for the International Society of Business Disciplines Teacher of the Year. He also won the Marketing Management Association Hormel Meritorious Teaching Award (2012) (Note: There were multiple winners.) His active learning techniques have been published in Great Ideas in Marketing and Best of the Great Ideas in Teaching Marketing. His paper on competitive intelligence and ethics, co-authored with Dr. Tom Zimmerer, won “Best in Track” at the Institute of Behavioral and Applied Management Conference. His papers on white-collar crime, co-authored with Drs. Diemer and Zimmerer, and teaching excellence, co-authored with students, won “Best in Track” at the International Academy of Business and Public Administration Disciplines. Dr. Baglione has authored or co-authored almost 80 refereed journal and proceedings articles for publications such as British Food Journal, Chinese Management Studies, Electronic Markets, Journal of Excellence in College Teaching, Journal of Promotion Management, Quarterly Review of Distance Education, and The Journal of Applied Management and Entrepreneurship. He is also faculty advisor for the SLU chapter of the AMA, an organization that has won 24 major awards at its International Collegiate Conference during his tenure, four times winning multiple awards. The AMA was the SLU SGU Organization of the Year (2012).
