Good
Prof. May is an amazing lecturer. He also grades like most other philosophy professors. He is extremely clear about his expectations but his class isn't easy, Exam format is on the syllabus and he gives several pages of paper guidelines. You won't do well if you choose not to follow his directions. You must also show up in class to pass.
Average
Stay away from this prof if you haven't taken any philosophy course ever. I only took this because it is a required elective for my major. At times, he can make the class discussions intimidating and tests are based on random paragraphs out of the textbook and you will have to give the author who said it. Lectures are a pain because his handwriting is awful.
Awful
Professor May's lectures were incredibly boring. There were no powerpoints so taking notes was hard. There were three essays, which he barely tried to lend his help. I don't feel like I learned the material well in his class and it's very hard to reach him during office hours. In addition, he's a harsh grader too. I would not recommend his class to anyone.
