The Associate Vice President for Academic Success reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and serves as the leader for the Office of Academic Success. The Office of Academic Success is comprised of the Centers for Academic Success
the Achieving the Dream Initiative
and the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Student Success Initiative. The AVP for Academic Success directly supervises the directors
assistant directors
specialists and coordinators who lead each of the areas of the Office of Academic Success. Additionally the AVP for Academic Success indirectly supervises approximately 150 other staff members that are assigned to this area. This AVP \r\nserves as one of the liaisons between Academic Affairs and Student Affairs and plays a large role in the strategic enrollment management of the college. This Associate Vice President is also responsible for coordinating the day-to-day student success \rstrategies and initiatives as they relate to the office of Academic Affairs. The Associate Vice President may represent the Vice President and the College in committee meetings
hearings
and other events sponsored by CSN
NSHE and its institutions
and in the community.

This position exists for the purpose of designing and implementing services as well as recommending and administering policies regulating CSN’s Centers for Academic Success Department. In addition
this position is also responsible for the structure and organization of the Writing Center
Reading Center
Communication Center
Math Resource Center
Science Resource Center
Tutorial Learning Center
and Supplemental Instruction on each of the main campuses. \n\nCenters for Academic Success consists of five classified positions
150-200 tutors and desk staff within the all centers and also includes the Coordinators and six professional specialists
. The position is expected to conceptualize
develop
and implement tutoring and learning services to promote academic and decision making skills leading to successful course completion. In this capacity
the position provides direct leadership by recruiting

classified and part time employees in Centers for Academic Success. This position is responsible for coordinating all daily programmatic and business functions of the CAS facilities in an executive manner to ensure compliance with applicable federal
state and institutional mandates. This person also serves as the direct liaison between Academic Affairs and other all academic support in the Centers. The Director is responsible for strategic planning and assessment
meaning continuous improvement via action research and assessment. The Director must maintain a quality service to CSN students with mentoring programs and a professional development program for all Centers staff. It is imperative to coordinate and collaborate with all academic departments and student services to ensure premier services for the students.
