Biography

Fairmont State University - English

Professor, Communications Specialist
E-learning
Sharon
Brescoach, Ph.D.
Morgantown, West Virginia
Five minutes after teaching my first college-level class as an adjunct at age 26, I knew I would become a professor. Although I have always enjoyed writing, research, and media as well as working in the professional media environment, teaching has always my primary calling. I am a proud Appalachian dedicated to improving our region's "brain drain." Much of my research intersects with other issues related to both media and Appalachia, i.e. "Word: Speaking Out through Hip-Hop in the Dub Vee (WV)."

Other Specialties: Media studies, advertising, PR, Appalachian Studies, cultural studies, environmental communication, intercultural communications, diversity in media, women politicians in the media
