I'm a Solution Engineer at Oracle; I combine my technical knowledge with communication skills to help customers understand our cloud products. I work specifically in Information Management: database design and implementation.

Before this, I spent 5 years teaching American History at the college level in Miami. My specializations include the history of women, gender, and sexuality; the US in the 19th and 20th century; American political history; and the history of technology. I can tell you everything you never imagined you wanted to know about the history of birth certificates in the US.

Before that (1998-2004): Software engineer with experience in large publishing systems--- particularly internet news. Worked on the implementation of one of the largest Zope-based websites in the world. Experience with building scalable systems for very high traffic.

Technical skills: Oracle Cloud products, especially Autonomous Data Warehouse. Data science & data visualization with Python. Enterprise content management systems, open source software, Linux/Unix, Zope, Perl, Python, MySQL, Oracle, XML/XSLT, etc. Handling arbitrary data feeds, writing project specifications, documentation, testing.
