Good
The thing about Prof. Mendes’ labs are they are being taught by a TA rather than Prof. Mendes himself. I’m not even sure if he grades the report himself or if his TA does it, but he clearly says everything he expects to see in the lab report. You can get credit by including your thinking even if you get calculations wrong.
Good
Prof. Mendes is great at lecturing. He tells physics like a story which makes it captivating. The homework can be hard, but the tests are simply the moderate homework problems. He was one of my better professors.
Good
Every laboratory has its teaching assistant, and mine was a guy named Prawin. He was awesome. He's always ready to help and he wasn’t too tough when it came to grading. There are 10 labs in total and two extra ones you can do if you miss any. The labs aren’t very tough. Everything you need to know is in the manual, which you can get for free online. There were only a couple of labs that took the whole class period to finish. Plus, you have a whole week to turn in each lab report. The best part? Prawin gets rid of your lowest report score.
