Awesome
I took Prof. Rice's course during summer. He's amazing! His lectures were awesome and he's very accessible outside of class. He even said he would curve at the end. Most importantly, he's very straightforward on exams. TA's are very picky so i suggest you show all your work on homework. I suggest you get to know them because they're helpful!
Awesome
Professor Rice's class is by far my favorite one. He has literally written a book on his subject and it's phenomenal. However, he's not accessible outside the class. His tests were very hard with heavy memorization since teacher assistants are picky graders. Fortunately, he give curves at the end. Overall, his class is only for those who are comfortable with and enjoy math.
Poor
Exams or homework make up majority of the class. Exam grading is very particular, therefore you'll need to study a lot and not only write down but also explain the concepts for an answer. Go to the section and get a sense of the big picture. Ignore math; it will not be tested. At the end of the course, Dr. Rice curves the grade.
Good
Professor Rice is very knowledgeable. However, you write everything in the exams. Teacher Assistants are very peculiar for grading. The class is interesting but overall it's a stressful class.
Awful
Professor Rice is the hardest class I've ever taken at Texas Tech University. To be honest, I'm not even sure what happens in these classes half the time. All you do in this course is take tests and only do ten homework. The teacher assistants grade everything and are very specific about what they want. As this occurs during COVID-19, things don't get any easier either.
