Professor Pool is passionate about music which is amazing. However, for a class that has a lot of first-year students that are required to take it, I can say that it's a bit overwhelming. Because I have no background in music, it was difficult, since he expects everyone to be knowledgeable. Also, he will call on people to answer and basically harass them until they get it right.
