Senior Computer Programmer / Analyst
Designed and programmed a number of Databases for use by personnel, administration and staff investigators. Maintained and troubleshot a statewide WAN, with multiple LANs. Solved all levels of help desk calls, project planning and developed an end user training program. I was also responsible for the web page design and modifications for the agencies emerging web presence. Designed and configured the WAN prior to the opening of the 2nd Casino within NY borders at the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino. This was then connected it with Turning Stone and our offices in Albany. Yes, I did hold the first and only official computer title in this statewide agency charged with overseeing all casinos, horse tracks and gaming operations in the state of New York at the time.

Academic Program Director
Served and charged with all responsibilities of personnel and supervisory oversight of the Academic IT department. My supervisory responsibilities consisted of a staff assignment of 20 full-time IT faculty, 3 IT support positions, and 20+ adjunct faculty members. Significant focus was one the modernization of the department's curriculum, outcome assessment and community outreach engagement. The major initiatives accomplished under my leadership was the critically needed updating, streamlining and stratifying of the department's 8 curriculums. The resulting curriculums have included positive changes such as across the board math improvements and an expanded IT core including courses in Security Fundamentals & Linux. The newly revised and approved security curriculum was modeled after the published National Security Agency (NSA) guidelines and our program received certification valid till 2013. Other developments, was the introduction of of a multiple certification focused Associate degree program in Network Administration. This has become one of the fastest growing majors at the college. Recurring faculty administrative duties include the development of semester master schedules, evaluating probationary, non-probationary and adjunct faculty members, regularly reviewing, recommending and helping in faculty professional development plans, overseeing and developing department equipment needs and maintaining fiscal responsibilities pertaining to such. I coordinated an international faculty search committee as well as technical support assistant positions. Regularly and communicate with multiple offices across campus regarding student recruitment, academic support, K-12 office, and advisement services for students with needs. Recurring activities include providing school tours, orientations, visitation days, as well as actively involved with many on and off campus events as community out reach programs (FBLA, Middle School Career days etc.).
Senior Investigator
Researched the existing information technology infrastructure and developed a re-alignment strategy of the major information technology subsystems used by the NYS Department of Transportation (DOT). The NYS DOT is comprised of 11 independently operated and controlled regional offices. Each region has evolved separately in their use and development of IT infrastructure and expertise over then last 20+ years. While there has been a recent move to centralized applications, the majority of applications have been designed to be program specific and lack enterprise-wide integration. My responsibility was to assist in the formulation of a comprehensive centralization strategy for IT management and executives. This included redefining the statewide agency's new role in the first major transformation since the 1950's. NYS DOT is moving towards a more customer focused agency as fewer new capital projects (roads and bridges) are anticipated, but more information services are provided through Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS), Traffic Management Centers (TMCs) and Transportation Operations Centers (TOCs).
Information Technology Faculty Member Associate Professor
I held a leadership role in developing and enhancing an evolving security curriculum for our theoretical and applied program leading to a proposed Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Assurance. This work was in conjunction with faculty at SUNY Albany though membership in the NYS Center for Information Forensics and Assurance (CIFA). Courses developed and taught have included; Network Security, Operating Systems, Data Communications, System Analysis, System Support and Maintenance, Database Concepts, Advanced Software, Network Design Concepts, Network Administration, Microcomputer Applications, Computer Concepts and End-User Support Systems. I have written federal grant proposals focused on support of community data assurance initiatives. Extensively involved in divisional committee work in program assessment, which helped to maintain the college's Middle States' Accreditation. I served on two standing committees: Academic Policies and the Selection Committee for the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching. In academic policies, I helped rewrite many of the college's academic policies to align SUNY Cobleskill more with other 4-year state universities.
Associate Computer Programmer / Analyst
I was responsible for the development of a strategy and implementing the highly public agency's statewide migration to a 32-bit operating system (Windows NT) from its DOS based clients with UNIX based server platforms. This was accomplished discretely while the agency was engaged with the United States Attorney General's office in bringing antitrust litigation against Microsoft. Responsibilities have included creating and deploying master images, securing the Windows NT workstations, integrating and managing desktops with Zen Works 2 on NetWare 4.11, and setting up 32-bit & 16-bit Oracle Client interfaces in NT. I performed all necessary hardware upgrades, software installation and delivery of all 12 regional LAN servers for the NetWare 4.11 migration. Significant priorities were on the technical aspects of emerging network technologies, deployment methods, and application compatibility. I supervised 2 to 4 teams comprised of technical staff of 15 to 20 during deployments as the Project Team Leader. I successfully converted over 2,200 systems to Windows NT Workstation 4.0 using fast Ethernet from DOS/WIN 3.11 clients with token ring, with little to no downtime for end users both on schedule and under budget.

My thesis topic entailed an in depth understanding of the rapid changes occurring in the business world which was evolving due to the rapid use of newer technology in the field of management. My research and computer programming skills were honed in the fields of artificial intelligence, decision support systems, system simulations, relational database designs and computer integrated manufacturing systems. Some selected activities and honors while earning this degree included a teaching assistantship, earning a position and playing on the starting scrum line of an undefeated intercollegiate Potsdam Polecat Rugby Club
