Innovating History
Christopher Newport's Public History Center played a key role in bringing L'Hermione to nearby Yorktown
Virginia in the spring of 2015. The ship is a reconstruction of the vessel that brought the Marquis de Lafayette from France in 1780 - a move that helped America win the Revolution.
