Awesome
Professor Steck is a great lecturer and a very genuine guy. He cares about the students and is very accessible outside of class but he has a strict policy regarding attendance. The workload, which is a short reading and response for every class and then one final essay, is reasonable and the readings are quite interesting.
Poor
Professor Steck is a nice guy. Overall this is a pretty demanding class. There is a response due every class. Participation is very important and you only get three absences that won't be held against your grade. That being said, the readings aren't too long. The topics are sort of interesting but have a very Christian focus. You will read a lot of Augustine.
Awful
I've had an amazing experience at Georgetown with my professors. Sadly, my experience with Prof. Steck was different. He rudely interrupts people during class. He doesn't care about his students' lives outside of the class and he also fails to uphold the standards of Georgetown profs. I really wish he would improve.
Average
Animals and Environment is a great Core Pathways class, and Steck's a solid communicator. Homework every class is irritating, however can be done fast, and it's possible to get an A. Steck has a Catholic view, however he is open minded, just try not to get on his bad side, he can become cold.
