Good
Professor Sherif is by far one of the most caring teachers I've ever had. He genuinely wants you to learn and be able to apply the material in his class. He's a good lecturer and makes himself available outside of class. The course material itself is extremely difficult and dense. The exams are thorough and time consuming as well. However, he makes it all reasonable.
Good
I feel like Prof. Sherif is a very underrated prof. He actually breaks down the subject to make it understandable and he really goes out of his way to help his students!
Good
After the first exam, I stopped watching lectures. He isn't my favorite professor; he's a bit dry and monotonous at times. I actually relied heavily on the book. You can base the homeworks from the book. Exams are almost similar to HW, so they're pretty fair! He's genuinely concerned about the students and is very adaptable.
Awesome
Doctor Sherif is one of the most attentive teachers I've ever had. Although exams and homework were challenging, he was always available and answered my e-mails right away. Yes, the lesson is challenging but not impossible though. Overall, I highly recommend taking his course if you want to learn thermo and gain a deep understanding.
Average
Professor Sherif is a good one. However, his lectures were, as others have said. If you can, take it with another professor.
Awesome
Professor Sherif is outstanding. He cares about his students learning the material. If you do everything you're supposed to do like pay attention in class, do the material, and read the textbook, you'll learn the material and do well in class, even if the work is harder than other teachers.
Awesome
Professor Sherif is undeniably remarkable. While his expectations may be higher compared to other thermodynamics professors, by the end of the course, you'll possess a thorough understanding of the material. His genuine concern for his students is evident. He has accommodated requests for extensions on homework and projects multiple times. However, it must be noted that lectures can sometimes lack excitement.
Awesome
Professor Sherif stands out as the most compassionate, attentive, thoughtful, and accessible instructor I've encountered. As an engineering professor, he consistently goes above and beyond expectations. Despite the challenges of the course, the rewards are substantial, thanks to his exceptional teaching. He provides a solid foundation for the future. And his commitment is evident in the fact that he offers his phone number for 24/7 assistance with any questions.
Awesome
The commitment this Professor Sherif demonstrates towards students is unparalleled at the University of Florida. Whether you reach out to him via email at midnight before an exam, he promptly responds within minutes. Several assignments had their deadlines extended by a few days to accommodate students requiring extensions. While he challenges you to put in the effort, the result is a genuine understanding of the material.
Awesome
Really great teacher. You can clearly see that he loves what he's teaching and also cares about us, his students. When we started the class, he gave us his number and even said if we needed help and called him at 2 o'clock in the morning, he'd pick up and gladly help us out. There's a lot of homework to do, but when we finish it, we really get what we're studying.
Awesome
He's the kindest teacher I've ever had. He genuinely worries about his students. He goes above and beyond to make sure we all do well. His class is tough, and the tests are tricky. However, helps us out with lots of practice questions and never-ending reviews of the topics we're studying. Plus, he's always ready to answer any question we have, whether we're in class or not. He's a 10/10.
