Awful
Stay way from this instructor. He does not speak English and he does not like people who do.
Awful
This professor(?) does not speak English and he does not know it! Terrible personality, even worse as a teacher. Don't Do It!
Awful
Another Indian who does not speak English, does not want to learn Physics and does not want to learn how to teach. Do not take his class!
Awful
Don't take him even if you have no other choice. He is not a good prof! All those other comments that say he cares are lies, he is very rude and he doesn't care if you do not understand his class. He will decide that you are not smart enough to be in his class. I found him to be very inpatient and arrogant. I can not recommend him to take out the trash. I repeat do not believe those other comments saying good things about him.
Awful
Horrible prof. He goes too fast. He only wants smart people in his class. He is not accessible ever! If you meet with him he will be rude. He will not explain anything to you and he will be very inpatient. Do Not take him. If you have to, change your major. Over all this guy is a horrible person. Less than average professor or even less than terrible I would say.
Awful
An extremely rude person to students who try to speak to him outside of class time, even during office hours! If you email him about anything you'll be lucky to get a reply within a week if at all. I tried going to his office hours THREE times during the semester. He claimed to be there but he wasn't... caught him red-handed! Totally lied about being in his office.
Average
Not the best at explaining things. Good at explaining the CONCEPT but goes very fast in solving problems. You need to read the book if you want to understand anything. It also helps to go to the SI sessions. You have to go to class for the clickers because there are a lot of them.
Average
Prof. Mahapatra is an aggressively average professor. However, he struggled with empathizing with students and putting himself in their shoes. He didn't seem to care about what we don't understand and why we didn't understand it. His answers were often pointed even when he would ask for feedback.
Good
I will talk about how Professor Mahapatra is as a teacher, instead of commenting about how he is as a person like many others will do. I honestly believe that he is a great professor when it comes to lecturing the material. He will stop and thoroughly explains the concept that might seem too difficult for us to understand at first.
Good
Prof. Rupak clearly knows his stuff. He cares about how you understand the material as well. Test problems are pretty much similar to homework and lecture problems. He even gives good review material. However, I find the class hours to be so limited.
