I attended the University of Northern Iowa, obtaining both my bachelor's and master's degrees in Communication Studies. Upon completion, I continued on at UNI as a full time instructor in the Comm. Department for 12 years. Recently I accepted a position teaching full time at Hawkeye Community College and so far it seems like a great decision! I didn't fully leave UNI - I am still teaching online for the university.
On a more personal note, I have been married for thirteen years to a wonderful man named Josh and we have two beautiful children...Grady is nine and Kingsley is seven. In my free time, I love to entertain and run. I recently completed my ninth half marathon.

I teach Comm 1000, Cornerstone, Communication Theory, and Interpersonal Communication. In 2011, I applied for and received a grant to develop the basic course, Comm. 1000, into an online offering in order to broaden access to the Liberal Arts Core, and I'm proud to say that course has been offered online since Fall, 2012. This spring I will begin teaching another online course, Business Communication, through the College of Business.

I recruit student volunteers and then spend the day volunteering myself at that UNI Special Olympics games.
