Experienced interdisciplinary researcher in the fields of physics, biophysics, astrophysics, nanotechnology and theoretical chemistry, with 7 refereed journal articles published and 10 major conference/seminar contributions.
Over 10 years of university teaching experience, science and mathematics (lecturer since 2015, teaching assistant during both graduate and undergraduate studies); comfortable lecturing for large classes and broad audiences.
Over 7 years of scientific public outreach experience (planetarium shows, observatory tours, public events and lectures, radio and television appearances).

My research uses Atomic and Kelvin Probe Force Microscopy to study gemini surfactants and their electrostatic properties to better understand their possible use as a gene and drug delivery mechanism.

The President is the head of the GSA, and the chief representative of graduate students when interacting with the University and other external organizations such as the Canadian Alliance of Student Associations. To this end, the President sits on many high-level committees such as the Senate and Board of Governors of the University of Waterloo, and co-chairs the Graduate Student Relations Committee with the Associate Provost, Graduate Studies. Internal to the GSA, the President is the chair of the Board of Directors, the governance body that oversees financial and corporate matters of the GSA.
Vice President Student Affairs
The Vice President Student Affairs strives to be aware of issues of graduate student concern of a non-academic that affect the quality of student life. Issues include, but are not limited to, student services, health and safety, student activities and funding. The VP Student Affairs has oversight responsibilities of the Student Affairs Committee and the Graduate Funding Committee, and represents graduate students on a number of UW Committees.
Coordinator, Gustav Bakos Observatory
I manage the day-to-day operations of uWaterloo's observatory and conduct public science outreach lectures and tours, as well as make occasional radio and television appearances on current events in astronomy. In this role I also chaired the organizing committee for a public viewing of the 2012 Transit of Venus, which was attended by ~2000 people on campus.
