• Oklahoma Panhandle State University

  Head Football Coach/Instructor

  -Inherited a football program low in numbers, morale, and discipline with only six wins in the previous seven seasons.
  -Assisted in elevating the program from NAIA II status in 1994 to NCAA II.
  -Taught Theory of Coaching, First-Aid, and Driver & Traffic Safety.
  -Served as an academic advisor in the Health, Physical Education & Recreation Department.
  -Recruited and signed 84 players from May 1994 to July 1994.
  -Averaged 108 players reporting to fall camp each year from 1994-1996.
  -Achieved 1994 record of 6-4; the first winning season at OPSU since 1986.
  -1994 Finalist for NAIA National Coach of the Year.
  -Played competitively in 1995 and 1996 despite moving up a division each year and competing with half the number of scholarships as our opponents.

  Meet in-person with SES students pursuing a Masters in Sport and Exercise Sciences with an emphasis in Sport Management each semester for individual advising sessions. Work extensively with graduate students to facilitate practicums, internships, and research projects.

  -Assisted in coaching a team that won the 1999 Lone Star Conference Championship.
  -1999 Team finished 15th in the final national poll and 3rd in the Southwest region polls.

  -Coached the “Most Improved Defense” in the entire Lone Star Conference during the 1998 season. (The 1998 defense improved 8 spots in the Final Lone Star Conference rankings.)
  -Instructed Choices in Wellness and Introduction to HPER.
  -Served as an academic advisor for Health, Physical Education and Recreation majors.
  -Achieved a score of 98% on both the 1997 and 1998 NCAA Rules and Regulations Certification Test.
  -Recruited and signed 23 players from December of 1997 to August of 1998.
  -Recruited and signed 11 of the 22 starters on the 1998 Football Team.
  -Recruited and signed 18 of the 22 players that were listed on the 1998 Deep Chart.
  -Coordinated a defense that recorded 22 take-a-ways, 88 tackles for loss, and 29 quarterback sacks in 1998.
  -Initiated, planned, supervised, and worked on the 1998 summer renovations of Norris Field Football Stadium and the Elvan George Athletic Building.
