I have no idea who started posting here about my new job and of course appreciate the congratulations from people
HOWEVER
they are not called for as I am at the same job today as I have been for all the years I have been here at Valencia College. I have responded a few times but still get congratulations. All I have done over the years is expand my teaching duties from teaching Developmental Reading Courses which is my primary role and added Holocaust courses and study abroad as additional teaching roles. All this congratulating is getting the people I work for wondering about what new job as well? Thanks but No Thanks

Professor Gair
Over the past 36 years I have been an educator in both the public schools of New Jersey and community colleges in New Jersey. Since 2003 I have been a tenured full time professor of Developmental Reading at Valencia College. I am also deeply involved in ongoing Holocaust studies both as an educator as well as a lifelong student of the subject. I want to network with others in this field so that we can share ideas
experiences and pedagogy.

I teach Developmental Reading courses for incoming students who need a boost up in their reading skills. I have a Masters in Reading Education as well as certifications as a Reading Specialist
Reading Teacher
School Supervisor and School Principal. I have extensive background in curriculum development. I am currently employing the Flipped Classroom model in some of my Reading classes to evaluate the student reaction and achievement of that technique. In addition I teach a very popular course entitled \"Literature and Multimedia of the Holocaust\" and can say that doing this has allowed me to do the work that is most dear to my heart. Leading our students on study abroad to actually see the death camps has also been an inspiration for me. In Spring 2014
I will also be teaching a new course I just created \"The Holocaust in Cinema and Television\". I have 36 years teaching experience.
