Grant-Writing: Learning
Exploring
and Achieving in the Profession of STEM for First-Generation and Financially Under-resourced College Students
I served as the Principal Investigator for a diversity mini grant which was received through NC State University's Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity. The grant funded the LEAPS program (Learning
Exploring
and Achieving in the Profession of STEM) for TRIO Student Support Services-STEM. We were able to develop and implement a semester-long career and professional skills preparation program for participants to increase both graduation and persistence rates of SSS-STEM students through providing support in developing realistic career goals
navigating the career development process
and gaining a professional network for full-time and internship positions.

Holding top strengths as both a learner and achiever
I find great satisfaction in creating and continually improving programs as well as initiatives which promote student success. I believe in a holistic approach to student development and want to contribute to the success of each individual student while in college
and beyond. \n\nMy passions lie in working with at-risk student populations (particularly students from first-generation college backgrounds and/or low-income households)
