“Military Schemes of Southampton in the Late Medieval Period”
Journal of Medieval Military History
This is a brief examination of a topic that is often overlooked
how medieval towns organized themselves for conflict and defense. In this the focus is the civic documents of medieval Southampton itself and how they can be used to demonstrate a very cohesive and evolving system of organization for the purpose of town defense.

I am a teacher. I hope to inspire people to look at history as not just a list of long past events and people who have died but something alive and from a human perspective. To look at the major accomplishments
failures as well as everything else that fits in between. I like to think that history and the human experience can be made interesting to any person given the right interface.\n\nI have experience in historic and archeological research
teaching
experimental archaeology
artifact display
artifact maintenance and restoration
writing of academic articles and speaking and organizing academic conferences. \n\nMy goal is to continue my research on the involvement of medieval towns as military organizations. At the moment I am focused on medieval English towns and cities but in the future I would like to branch out to further kingdoms and regions.\n\nSpecialties: I specialize in the medieval period of history but have a wide range of historic eras and themes I am familiar with. I tend to focus on medieval military history
at this moment how English towns were active military organizations. I also have a high level of experience with ancient
medieval and early modern arms
armour
artillery and warfare.
