Political Leanings:
Liberal | Conservative |
Average
The class wasn't bad at all. If you get offended easily, this class is not for you. During the class, expect to be offended at one point. Aside from that, if you attend the lectures and skim through the book, you can definitely get an A.
Poor
Prof. Lim wasn't really good as a professor. Grades only come from tests and they're pretty much difficult. She was a bit funny but I didn't like her teaching style.
Awesome
Professor Lim is an awesome professor, she made the material easy to grasp, super helpful, and funny. The tests are mainly based on lecture but some people were able to make As with just reading the textbook and PowerPoint presentations. The first two exams reading the textbook will help immensely. She does have an accent, but not too hard to understand.
Awesome
Professor Lim knows her subject very well and understands how to teach the material and make it interesting. She is really funny, but you probably shouldn't take her course if you are easily offended or don't like opposing views of your own. It's a very easy course, you just need to listen to her.
Awesome
Professor Lim keeps lectures interesting and funny. Not difficult if you go to the lectures and read the book, but not a blow off class. I highly recommend going to the lectures, they are funny and will help you more than the book does when it comes to tests. You don't really have to have the book but it's helpful if you want to get an A.

Prof. Phaik is the funniest prof I've ever had. She's very opinionated and she has trouble withholding her political values in class. You'll have to do well on exams because you're only graded on 4 exams. She doesn't give extra credit and she doesn't drop grades. Class is 1/2 lecture, 1/2 textbook-oriented tests.
Good
207 is a dry class. So, Doctor Lim makes sure to crack jokes, that help you get through the class. It's only the four tests that were graded. Just make sure to pay attention. He changed the test format, due to the pandemic. Because of this, I got a bit robbed of an A. Nonetheless, he's a solid professor. He sometimes go off on a tangent, but I still recommend his class.
Awesome
Dr. Lim is amazing! She's a lot of fun in class and makes everything clear. If you aren't okay with her being liberal and open about it, don't take her. Except for a few difficult questions, the tests aren't horrible. To get an A, you must attend class and read the textbook.
Awesome
Professor Lim is well-known at Texas A&M. Her lectures are amusing, which aids in the learning of the content. Her assessments are challenging, but if you study the textbook and take good notes during her lectures, you should have no trouble getting an A.
Good
Professor Lim's slides were all graphs and charts from the book. There's no homework. Only four exams are all multiple choices. Her lectures can be boring most of the time, but she makes the most of it by making a joke in class. As long as you read the book and pay attention in class, you'll be fine.
Awesome
Professor Lim's lectures do get boring. The material is direct though. Just go to class and read the book the day before the exam and you should be able to get an A.

I didn't care for Professor Lim's class. It wasn't horrible though. He tries to make his lectures as funny as possible and is always cracking jokes. The only grades were the four exams. If you read the chapters in the book and take Quizlets online, you should do well.

This class involves lots of lectures. You won't really get any notes apart from what you write down during class. A tool called Quizlet comes in very handy. Most of the material, about 80%, comes from lectures, notes, or Quizlets. The remaining content is from the textbook.
Good
This professor was totally awesome. She's really straightforward and one of a kind. She loves teaching and says stuff to make you really get what she's teaching. Her quizzes got questions from the textbook and her talks in class. Politics class can be dull, but she definitely made it fun.
