Design education and industrial design have been my professional interests since 1984. Thirty years in the business in the UK, Europe and US have given me a perspective on the world of design that has enabled me to not only enjoy my own career as a designer, but also to guide and advise over 1000 young designers at the early stages of their careers. My interests are in user centred design, empathic studies and the design and manufacturing interface.

I also have a strong research interest in the design and development of the Mini car, a unique icon of 20th century design.
