Tampa, Florida
My career path focuses on international law and practical legal education of first-year law courses that are on bar exams, with other teaching and scholarship aspects including advising on international legal internships, international scholarships. I have lived, studied, taught and worked as a transactional attorney for nearly 10 years in foreign countries. After having taught property law as well as international law courses for ten years in Grand Rapids, Michigan, I am moving to the teaching of Contracts and Sales Law at my law school's Tampa, Fla. campus, along with electives in international law, Oil & Gas Law. Recently finished a book on Contract Law (using all Florida cases, but covering all MBE/national subjects) and am seeking publisher. To get a sense of it, and of the dedication, see www.mylegs.org ("mylegs" is a common nmenonic device for contract law's Statute of Frauds, FYI).
Law Instructor
Taught administrative law seminar and public international law at the faculty and for its Institute for International Relations (Ustav Medzinardnych Vztahov). One of my favorite projects related to this, in association with ABA/CEELI, was teaching legal English for the Slovak Ministry of Justice.
International Transactional Associate
Transactional work involving real estate, distribution contracts for beer distributors, interim financing in a post-Communist legal environment, and similar.
International Transactional Attorney
Corporate establishment and compliance, competition, mezzanine financing and M&A contract work + due diligence projects, secondment agreements, and similar.
Lecturer in Law
Assistance with practical skills training - international moot courts, lectures. Sabbatical year/Fulbright Scholarship.
Professor of Law
Property Law, Contracts Law, Sales, Negotiable Instruments, European Union Law, Advanced Practice Skills-International, Public International Law, International Criminal Law, International Business Law, Oil & Gas Law, Secured Transactions; Advisor to Jessup Moot Court Teams. Two-time Fulbright Scholar (teaching law). Moving to Contracts/Sales Department as lateral move (new skills and knowledge of first-year law school, bar-tested subjects).
JD summa cum laude

General legal studies, assistant teaching of contracts law, law clerk/legal interning and Ford Motor Company Office of the General Counsel, Corporate Transactions Group.
Non-Degree Study

Summer Program in Florence, Italy between Michigan Court of Appeals and Michigan Supreme Court clerking assignments.

Law and responsibility are a major part of business operation, and yet in times of economic crisis there is the omnipresent sentiment that there are too many lawyers. Whereas one could respond that self-interest does not appreciate the light of day, it is perhaps more positive to point out the great opportunity for increased and trouble-free expansion of business opportunity that savvy and forward-thinking lawyers can bring to the table.

I and two co-authors have written a comprehensive casebook currently in two parts (Contracts I and Contracts II) which after editing Summer 2018 of the second half will be combined into a Florida Contract Law book. Covers all important contracts topics for MBE as well as Florida purposes, but using the vehicle of all Florida cases rather than the other way around - better to learn Florida law while pointing out the national ("MBE") differences. Laws around the country, taking into account majority and minority rules and trends, is 80-90% the same in any event. Why not develop an understanding of the essence of Florida contract law and practice? We are currently tweaking the second half (Contracts II) and finalizing a teacher's manual - all Contracts I aspects are already finalized. Weekly review outlines with blanks should assist students to self-assess on weekly basis on how well they know what they need to know. Copyrights application already filed for the two parts, and will be on the combined version. There is now a three volume version that ‘addenda’ two of the 26 Chapters. This would facilitate 3, 8-week terms. There are myriad study aids to supplement. Go to www.mylegs.org for helpful material. Florida Bar Takers! The materials may be of use, esp the Informative Slides.
