I am currently working as an Associate Professor in the Criminal Justice Department at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. Before joining Johnson & Wales University I worked at Bristol Community College in Fall River, Massachusetts and Bay State College
in Boston, Massachusetts. I retired from the Pawtucket Police Department after serving twenty-two years, nineteen as a detective in the narcotics unit.
My research and area of interest concerns police training techniques and the limited attention given to stress management education. I have focused on cumulative stress in policing and the detrimental impact it has on the individual officer, as well as the corresponding collateral harmful consequences to domestic and other interpersonal relationships, job performance, the department, and occupational interactions with the public.
