I work with students to find internships and and work with internship hosts to establish placement for students. In addition to directing the internship program, I teach editing, advanced news and article writing, opinion writing, and I advise approximately 70 journalism minors.
I have taught at five universities and have directed university student media organizations that employed as many as 300.

Developed and taught coursework for Media Writing and News Writing courses. Was responsible for developing course lecture and assignments and evaluating material generated by students.

Oversaw production of two magazines, newspaper, FM radio station, closed-circuit TV station. In 2011, The East Carolinian won 2nd Place in the Best Newspaper category at the Southeast Journalism Conference, the one and only time the paper has been so honored.

Teach two or three sections per year of Journalism 311, News Reporting and Writing; Journalism 313, Public Affairs Reporting; Journalism 316, Feature Writing or Journalism 415, Magazine Writing. Responsible for developing course lecture and assignments and evaluating material generated by students.
Newspaper project coordinator
Through this graduate assistantship, directed creation of community newspapers at five
rural Alabama high schools. Tutored students' journalistic, documentation, writing, and business skills; fostered
relationship between directing institution, rural high schools, and rural communities; and developed and shared
research pertinent to rural areas.
Media director
Trained and coached writers, editors, designers and photographers. Implemented yearly budget of $1.2 million. Responsible for implementation of state's high school journalism outreach program, the Alabama Scholastic Press Association, geared to identify the top communications students in the state, enhance their high school curricula and recruit them to the university.
