I am an artist, photographer and educator. A graduate of the University of Delaware (BFA) and Penn State University (MFA), I have exhibited my work nationally (Juniata College Museum of Art, Redline Art Center, Photoworks at Glen Echo Park) and internationally (Rathfarnum Castle, Ireland). I have taught public school residencies in central Pennsylvania, was an adjunct professor at Penn State University as well as Penn College for Technology; and an Assistant Professor of Art at Juniata College.
I currently teach photography through the Smithsonian Associates, where I specialize in History of Photography and darkroom-based photography. I am also an Associate Artist at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria and exhibit there. I recently completed a residency on fellowship at the Vermont Studio Center and was previously in residence at the Master Photography Retreat in France; Cowhouse Studios in Ireland and the Burren College of Art, also in Ireland. I work collaboratively and creatively with colleagues, students and interns.
From 1980-90 I worked in public media at KBDI in Denver where I developed a strong commitment to community service.
Specialties in education: digital photography, darkroom photography, history of photography, design and color, drawing, integration of photography with other curriculum and community involvement.
My own photography focuses on conceptual and documentary approaches and incorporates a strong element of storytelling.
Assistant Professor of Art
Developed digital arts area of Art Department at small liberal arts college. Responsible for equipment purchases & maintenance, studio management, student advising, budgeting and assessments. Taught the following courses:

Fellowship & Residency
Received a one month fellowship at the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, Vermont.
Associate Artist
As an Associate Artist, I exhibit work at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, VA as well as the Mosaics Torpedo Factory. I was also a Visiting Artist in August 2018 and am currently a member of the Jurying Committee of the Torpedo Factory Artist Association.

History of Photography with hands-on applications; Black and White Photography (darkroom); Self-Portrait workshop in conjunction with Eye to I exhibit at National Portrait Gallery.
Photographer
Create photographic images for area non-profits and NGOs, including the Culmore Clinic, the Northern Virginia Therapeutic Riding Center, Auburn Heights Museum, Lutheran Social Services in Washington DC, and for a veterinary service project (Iowa State University) on the Crow Creek Reservation in South Dakota.
