Average
Avoid Oscar Moreira Tamayo if you can He is not a teacher. He put a major emphasis on curves heavily but without the curve the class average is in the low 60's. His grading criteria was a mystery. Take him only if you have no other choice. You should be able to get a B as long as you show up to class. His exams are really tough and have nothing to do with his homework problems. If you want an A, you will have to work extremely hard.
Awesome
I recommend taking him!! His tests may be hard but he curves very generously. You just have to show up in class, do the homework, and do well in lab. All the homework is on chegg and tests are not weighted heavily. Quizzes are weighted pretty heavily and fairly difficult so go to recitation. He is honestly sweet and his lectures are easy to follow.
Good
Dr. Tamayo is overall a great professor. The lectures are understandable, and he is extremely helpful during his office hours. He makes the exams easier than the homework. The homework uses Mastering Engineering, it helps to make sure you are keeping up with the class.
