Evaluating the use of Night Vision Goggles
The project was for a group submission in the 2013 FAA Design Competition. We conducted user interviews with helicopter pilots who used NVG's
gained hands on knowledge/experience with the device
assessed the limitations of the device based on SME interviews and an extensive literature review
and provided recommendations for a lighting system upgrade area wide.
Bicycle Facility Design for East Volusia County
The purpose of this project was to evaluate the current bicycle facility in East Volusia County with the goal of designing a new facility
specifically targeting bike lanes. We conducted a cost/benefit analysis and developed a plan to implement the new bicycle facility.
Airport Drafting Project
The purpose of this project was to evaluate operations at Honolulu International Airport using the Total Airspace and Airport Modeler (TAAM) software. The goal was to identify the best design of the airport in regards to the number of operations.
NASA Baseline Project
This project used Total Airspace and Airport Modeler (TAAM) to develop a simulation for the NASA Kennedy Space Center shuttle landing facility. The purpose was to create a baseline scenario of operations to utilize and compare for future development initiatives.
CORE OPS Research Team
This team has collected data in the cardiovascular operating room and in the trauma bay/emergency department of multiple hospitals. We have collected and analyzed flow disruption and inefficiency data using HFACS and RIPCHORD taxonomies. Results and findings have been presented at multiple academic and professional venues.
