Awful
Prof. Idrus is terrible. This is honestly the worst class I've ever had. Everyone was either confused or anxious about the subject. There was too much info on slides as well! I'm actually not a religious person but this class got me praying every day.
Good
If you can keep up with lengthy lectures and self-teaching, take this class. Class is kinda tough, but you'll do fine as long as you study. You should really take notes though. TAs are pretty helpful and they even create a group chat with their peers, so everyone can help each other. Would totally recommend!
Good
At first, the workload seems really intimidating, but it's actually doable. She's always willing to explain things when you're struggling. Making quizlets actually saved my life because there were lots to memorize. She also has a pretty cool accent!
Poor
I feel like the TAs are the ones to blame for the problematic grading. Super terrible!!!! We actually had to recheck results, but I still ended up giving up and just losing the chance to get an A. My friends actually warned me to take this class, but I missed the deadline of dropping.
Average
Professor Idrus is difficult when it comes to tracking of grades. The tests are really weighed on the basis of special calculations. You have to trust his system blindly. The exams are essay response, scored how she thinks appropriate. But we're confident with the multiple choice results. Her grading system is tyrannical. It's a tough class added that she's not always nice. I got an A in her class, but it cost me a few gray hairs though.
Awful
Wouldn't recommend this prof at all. I feel like she treated this course like a graduate student class. Since the class average is around 70, she had to adjust her grading scale for students to pass. You should be ready to memorize pages and pages of obscure facts. Actually, she threatens students with cheating more than teaching!!! Pls save yourself!
Good
I wouldn't retake her class, but I highly respect her! Dr. Idrus is so intelligent that she doesn't understand how others don't get the info. This explains her elegant teaching style. You can get an A with much hard work.
Awesome
If you want a simple A, and you don't want to actually learn, then this is not your class. You will learn so much from this class, but only if you are willing to put in time to prepare. Lia is very passionate about the content! As long as you put in time to rewatch the lesson, you'll do fine!
Good
Doctor Idrus is not awesome nor terrible. She expects students to learn the material in a medical student style, as she did, rather than in an introduction course. Even with receiving a B I'm a previous straight A student, I think these comments are harsh. Much of the negative feedback is due to Sophia and Lucky, the teacher assistants whom unnecessarily take off points. The class is not an easy A, nor an awful one.
Awesome
This was a challenging subject, but I enjoyed having Prof. Idrus as my instructor. Class is flexible because she knows what she's talking about and records her lectures so attendance isn't required. There are a lot of quizzes, but if you pay attention in class and study, you'll be fine. She grades on a curve, so even if the content is difficult, an A is still achievable.
Poor
I'm happy I'm not the only one who feels this way. These intense reviews are because her class is difficult. I emailed Nirelia about my test score which wasn't posted after two weeks. She didn't respond at all. The problem is the short answer questions she included more than 40 in each test rather than the multiple choice ones. Sure, she's smart and available for help, but this class is wild.
