Career Services Coordinator
I help students with anything job related: resumes, cover letters, internships, etc. I track student outcomes so that we can keep accurate records of student employment after graduation. I plan, host, and attend career and job fairs to facilitate employment opportunities for graduates. I formed an alumni association to improve networking for the college as well as a work/study program to provide opportunities for paid internships for graduates. I implemented a career readiness certificate as a comprehensive plan for students to prepare for the job market.

My research is in Antebellum American Literature, with a focus on Hemispheric Studies, Cultural Poetics, and the American Renaissance. My dissertation is about the literature of the Mexican War. It is a comparative study of writing about the war and during the time period from a variety of genres. I investigate the relationships between war, gender, race, hemispheric studies, sensational literature and popular culture in contact zones and borderland areas.
