Awful
Dr. Kamil teaches History Dr. Kamil is a mumbling professor, meaning that if you sit in the back of the lecture hall, you will not understand a word of what he is saying. He does not clarify topics, he repeats information over and over again. He never provides resources or materials to back up his lectures, and he often goes off on unrelated tangents that make you wonder what the point of the lecture was at all. He has no slides or handouts so your only resource is the very expensive text book which is sold out the second day of class. Not a good choice.
Poor
Kamil teaches History Kamil is so sporadic and all over the place that if you're not sitting in the front row, paying attention 100% of the time, going to lecture will be impossible and will be as useful as skipping. I taught this class to myself through shared notes. He gives unreasonably hard 1 question quizzes, He is a hard grader and seems so disconnected from the class. He will not answer questions after class and, if he thinks the question is beneath him, he will give you a bad "participation" grade. Avoid him!
Average
Kamil's class was unreasonably hard for a lower division. Your grade is based solely on his Teaching Assistant and mine did not like me. Your grade is based on 2 essays and five small quizzes which are unreasonably very hard, too. His lectures tend to get really long and boring. His TA really knows what's going on but he no longer drops the lowest test grade.

A lot of work for an intro class, and the grading is very harsh. You'd make a better choice by picking another teacher.
Good
He doesn't seem to be the type that's very good with lecturing, as he likes to go off topic, but the class was discussion based instead, which made it perfect. Super friendly and willing to make manageable work.
Poor
I recommend you overall avoid Kamil's class, it's very disappointing. The professor only uses 90 minute pure lectures, no power points or other visual aids. There is little wiggle room when it comes to grades, and there is only a few grades. The only material needed are two novels that you are assigned to read, so don't waste your money on the textbook.
Awesome
Prof. Neil is amazing! You can see that he cares a lot about his students and he's able to facilitate fruitful discussions!

Professor Kamil was a fine one. However, be ready for lengthy lectures without PowerPoints or a clear rubric. If you read the work he assigned, you will be fine with the discussion, and you will have the materials for the exam. There were only three exams that were all essay style where he doesn't really specify what he wants. So, be ready to analyze a lot. Overall, this class is fine for core credit only.
Awful
Professor Kamil is the worst professor that I've had at the University of Texas. His lectures were unorganized and not connected with the exams. This made an absolute waste of time as we would sit there for two hours listening to whatever tangent he went off about this time. The exams were more focused on readings and discussion sections led by the teacher assistants.
Poor
The course material is very interesting, especially if you like History. However, Professor Kamil's class is very boring. There's a lot of reading involved if you want a good grade. Also, the class is only graded with a midterm, a short response to exams, and a final.
