I am the Assistant Academic Director at FIU Global First Year, a partnership with Shorelight Education, supporting international student success during their first year of studies at FIU.
Previously, I worked for 2.5 years as the Academic Coordinator in the same organization. I have also worked as a language instructor of Spanish for over six years at the University of Kansas and served as the Course Coordinator for Intermediate Spanish II for two years. I have had a large amount of experience in student success initiatives, course administration, data analysis, working with second language and ESL students, and developing curriculum in the second language setting. I have a strong passion for creating an engaging authentic learning experience for students.
I am also finishing my PhD in the School of Education at the University of Kansas focusing on Curriculum Development in the Second Language and ESL context. My research interests include Online Machine Translation and its implications in language acquisition and production. I currently reside in Miami, FL.

English Instructor
Taught English as free public service in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Prepared lesson plans
in Spanish to teach native Argentines the English language at all levels, ranging from
beginning students with no experience to advanced-level high school professors. Classes
included grammar, vocabulary and conversation topics as well as their cultural
applications.
