Awful
Not helpful. DO NOT take her. She talked down to us. She was rude and treated us like we were a high school class. She went through the material very quickly which made it hard to ask questions. I would ask her for help on her tests and she would tell me to look in the text book which was incorrect.
Awesome
For college algebra, Prof. Shivers is a great professor so I suggest taking her if you can. You will get a good grade if you do your assignments because the class is very structured. Test is exactly the same as the practice exams she gives but she changes the numbers and adds extra credit. It was definitely an easy class.
Awful
Professor Shivers goes very fast and does not explain things very well. She gives study guides that are worth 5% of your grade and the book has a ton of wrong answers.
Awful
Professor Shivers is very malicious and rude, and a terrible professor at that! She has no idea how to teach, she writes notes on the board but does not explain them. If you ask questions she makes you feel stupid, yet she gets mad if students don't ask questions and do bad. The homework is nothing like the class work or tests, plus she isn't helpful at all!
Good
Professor Shivers can be difficult to understand, as the problems are gone through at too fast of a pace. The good thing about it though is that you are told exactly what happens on the test and there is never a single trick question. Only a bit of busywork in the class, but as long as you do that, the practice test, and all of the homework you'll get an easy A.
Awful
Professor Shivers was the worst teacher ever.
